Gameplay

Now you are on the crime scene and everything here may be an important clue. Your task is to collect the clues and nail down the perpetrator. Put on your rubber gloves and touch 3 controls only. First, it is the number of lines ranging from 1 to 20. Second, it is a line bet from $0.01 to $5.00 or up to $100 per spin. There is a lot of routine police work. Therefore you may entrust an autoplay feature with it. Select from 10 to 50 spins and click the Spin button. You may stop an autoplay game after any spin. This mode stops automatically when bonus features activate.

Slot symbols

There are many icons, all mean something. There are 8 non-feature symbols including a Lab, DNA, a Spy Torch, a Fingerprint and 4 characters: Capt. Brass, Senders, Willows and D.B. Russell (listed here in an ascending order of payouts). Non-feature symbols pay from left to right when you land 3, 4 or 5 matching non-feature symbols on any active payline. Inactive paylines do not pay even if you land 3, 4 or 5 icons of a kind on them so check whether you have activated all available lines before spinning the reels. The payouts are from x5 to x5000 or up to $25,000 at a $100 bet.

There are also feature symbols including a Wild, a Scatter and two Bonus symbols such as Crime Scene Evidence and Lock’n’Respin. A Wild features Nick Stokes on it. It appears only on reels 2, 3 and 4. When you land a wild symbol in a winning combination, the wild expands transforming the reel it appears on into a wild reel, and this will improve your chances to win. Wilds substitute for any symbol but not for Scatters and both Bonus icons.

Lock’n’Respin feature

A Lock’n’Respin icon plus any winning combination trigger a feature. Land one Lock’n’Respin icon in any position on reel 3 along with any winning combination. This activates a feature and gets a winning combination locked. Other icons which do not belong to any winning combination transform into small reels each, so there could be as much as 12 independent one-icon reels. The feature makes them rotate and create new winning combinations. If there are new payable combos, the affected symbols get locked during next respins. This bonus mode goes on until there is no more winning combination. Then it stops, the total bonus win is calculated and paid out. The feature can be activated in a base mode and in a bonus mode.

CSI Free Spins Bonus

A SCI logo is a scatter symbol. Landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters in any position on any reel you earn 5, 10 or 30 free spins. Extra free spins can be won during free spins by landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters on any reel again. So there is a chance to play as much as 60 free spins in a row. All free spins, those initially triggered during a base game or those earned in a free spin mode are played at the bet amount you have selected for a base game in a triggering round. Crime Scene Bonus Game

Nothing is simple with crime investigation. Yet if you are good and patient, you may land 3 or more Crime Scene Bonus icons in any position on neighboring reels and activate a Crime Scene Bonus Game feature. There is no need to place Bonus icons in an active payline or start landing them from the leftmost reel: all you need to do to succeed and activate the bonus game is to have at least 3 Bonus icons on adjacent reels.

In the bonus game, you are to solve the crime. You collect decisive clues that will point you to the criminal. To do so, you have to collect 4 pieces of evidence. To collect a piece of evidence you have to land 3 or more symbols of a respective piece of evidence on adjacent reels. There is special display next to the Spin control which shows a found piece of evidence and an evidence meter displaying the number of found pieces. A Crime Scene Bonus Round goes until you find all pieces of evidence and solve the case.

Besides moral satisfaction, you earn a cash award for collecting evidence and solving the case. Your award depends on your line bet and the number of paylines you activate: one active line gives x20, five active lines make it x100 and so on up to 20 lines making it x400. So a $1 line bet at 20 active paylines will earn you $400 in a bonus round. In contrast to other slots, you are allowed to change these two parameters, the number of lines and a line bet, during a bonus game. If you do so, the number of collected pieces of evidence is kept, you lose nothing.

During a bonus mode all line wins are paid just like in a base mode. If you are a pro in crime investigation and gambling, you will manage to trigger free spins during a bonus game.
